This weeks theme at I HEART FACES, is My Summer in Pictures.

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is go over to Andy's (my husband) mom's house and have one of her back yard BBQ's. It always ends up in some big wrestling match between Andy and his brother Anthany.

Of course my kids have to get in on it as well once the "big boys" start tiring out and it becomes safe once again.

The bond between brothers, even at 30 years old is an AwEsOmE one.

I HEART FACES Week 21 Birthday

This picture was taken on Rhett's 2nd Birthday which was a very special birthday to us. We had nearly lost him a few months before this, and the thought came across my mind many times while in the hospital, that he would never see his 2nd birthday.

Just the look of joy in his eyes as he reached up for his crown makes me smile to this very day.

I Heart Faces Week 19 Amature Contest

This week at I Heart Faces is the Blurb Photo Book Contest. I have been super excited for this week!!

This picture was taken when we went to Disneyland back in 2007. We went to the beach and specifically told Chloee to be careful and not to get all the way wet since we had a long car ride back to Utah that day. Plus it was cold because it was in the morning.

Not 2 minutes after we said that, she went head first into the ocean.

The result that came from that little incident was this beautiful little face that could be a picture perfect postcard of a little surfer girl, who has spent her whole life in California on the beach.

I HEART FACES Week 18 Laughter

This photo was take this fall up the canyon that is literally just minutes away from our home. I know not all four of the kids are laughing, but little Rhett was just so cute that day. Everytime I would lay him in the leaves he would just giggle his little heart out because they were "runchy" (crunchy).

Rhett's face when he is laughing is the sweetest thing. You can't help but smile and laugh along with him.

I love this weeks theme at I Heart Faces, because this is one of my very favorite photos of Rhett. I love this hat on him, he is so stinking cute in it. It shows the blue in his eyes when the sun hits his brushfield spots just right.

I am really excited this week with the amature contest I Heart Faces. I got my Nikon camera for Christmas and it takes good photos but I'm not too impressed with my work. I need to learn so much more about the camera. This was taken a few weeks ago in our living room just before my daughters school program. She is beautiful, but I still think my camera skills could use some work.

KIDS ENTRY

This is a picture of Rhett and Hunter. They both share a special bond that I can't even begin to describe. Rhett adores his big brother, and they truly are best friends.

ADULT ENTRY

I thought of doing just adults...but this picture of Andy and Chloee is my favorite. Especially where Andy never wanted a little girl, yet him and Chloee are the very best of friends.

I Heart Faces Week 12

The theme for this weeks I Heart Faces kids category is Pouting.

One of the sweetest faces Rhett has is his pouty face. He is such the drama king when it comes to not getting his way. His pudgy little hands go up to his face and he sticks that little bottom lip out. He can even make his eyes glisten.

I mean seriously, how could you NOT give in to this little face....

Also for this week they are having a special pets theme. The theme is Anything Goes, and I think this one fits well. This is my all time favorite photo of one of Rhett's "uppies". I dunno about you, but I think hound dogs make the cutest puppies out there.

This is a picture of my only girl Chloee. I took this picture while she was posing in her new TuTu.

This one was an accident as I was messing around with my flash. I happened to turn the flash off, and she was mad becuase I wasn't letting her pose for a second. I started to drop my camera and snapped this.

It ended up being one of my favorite ones out of the whole session.

I Heart Faces ~ Wonder

For the Adult category this week I thought that this picture would be fun for the theme wonder.

There is nothing like the bond between Daddy and his little boy. Daddy just adores everything about this little guy. When we first got Rhett's diagnosis of Down syndrome, I wondered if Andy would accept him and love him as he would if he were a "typical" child.

I Heart Faces~Wonder

I recently discovered an awesome photography website called I Heart Faces. They give you a weekly theme, and then you enter your photo for the theme of that week.

This weeks theme is wonder.

Whenever I think of wonder, this photo automatically comes to mind. This is Rhett and Andy back in February of 2007, when Rhett had a horrible accident at the hospital. Before this photo was taken he had not woken up for nearly a week, and we were afraid of brain damage from lack of oxygen when he went into cardiac and respiratory arrest.

We weren't sure if we would ever see the sparkle in Rhett's eyes again. However on this day, (Super Bowl Sunday to be exact) Rhett woke up. Andy nearly crawled in Rhett's crib with him, and said "Hey Buddy!"

The wonder in Rhett's face as he looked into daddy's eyes recognized his face was absoutley amazing. It was a day that I will never forget.

This little face is the true meaning of wonder to me.
